SCHEDULE OF CHARGES

The controlled hunting season in Kansas runs from September 1 through March 31 of each year, however, we are limiting our season to October 1 through March 31. Generally, the month of September is still somewhat warm, and of course the birds will still be somewhat on the young side. Once the calendar gets to October and beyond, the hunting gets more serious and the fun really starts. We have made arrangements for our hunters to use the Pretty Prairie Guesthouse or the Prairie Crossing Bed and Breakfast if your schedule allows you to have a multiday hunt, or we will be glad to help you make any needed arrangements in nearby cities of Kingman, Hutchinson, or Wichita.

Our Basic Hunting Package consists of a one day or multi-day hunt at the rate of $170 per person per day, with a minimum of two hunters in the party. This price includes sales tax, guide service, the use of our experienced dogs, a fine lunch, and we clean and pack the birds at the end of the day in your coolers. Of course, if you have a hunting dog that you would prefer to bring, you are more than welcome to do so, and unlike many other resorts, we really mean it. Since we don’t put other hunters with your group, you are able to hunt your dog if you want, and it will spend the whole day in pheasants, and if it acts up a little, that is no problem for us because it hasn’t affected any other clients of ours. Of course, our dogs will still be available at any time during the day to supplement your dogs if you desire.

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total hunt cost is required at the time of booking. We seldom have days when it will be impossible due to the weather to provide you with an outstanding hunt, but if such a time period should occur during your scheduled days, your deposit can be applied to an alternative hunt, or even transferred to another hunter, so long as it is used in the same season. Also, at no additional charge, we can provide transportation to and from Wichita Mid Continent Airport, and we will be glad to help you book your lodging.

For your part of the hunt, you will need to provide suitable hunting attire, including some blaze orange attire, a current hunting license or controlled hunting area license which can be purchased online or at any Kansas outlet that sells hunting equipment and supplies, your gun and ammunition. For out of state hunter, buying a controlled hunting area license will be a nice surprise. The fee for this license is only about $16, while the fee for an out of state license is over $70, thereby saving you a substantial part of the cost of your first days hunt. Please contact us if you have any questions.

When you book your hunt, we will ask you if you prefer a pheasant, chukar, quail, or a mixed bag hunt, and we will do our best to meet your expectations. Your hunt will allow you to harvest six bird equivalents. A pheasant is counted as one bird, while two quail are counted as one bird. Chukar are about midway in size (and cost) between these two, so three chukar are counted as two birds. You are welcome to harvest additional birds at an additional fee of $12 per pheasant, $9 per chukar, or $6 per quail.

We have started a referral program that continues to be very popular. After you have hunted with us for the first time, any hunters that you refer to us and who hunt either with a different group or come with you on a subsequent trip, entitles you to a $10 per referral discount on your field hunt. We have had clients hunt at no cost by referring many new hunters to us. Our policy is that we have to spend money on advertising, so we may as well spend it on the people we do business with if possible.

If you are now ready to contact us with additional questions or to book your hunt, please feel free to email us at hunt@ringneckhaven.com or contact us by phone at 620-459-0121 and ask for Kyle Larson. Thank you and happy hunting.
